First Baptist Church of Fort Pierce

This past Sunday, we began our new sermon series. The Main Thing

This sermon series from 1 Corinthians 15–16, calls us to keep the gospel at the center of everything we believe and do. Paul reminds us to think clearly about the supremacy of the gospel—that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. This truth is the foundation of our faith and the anchor of our lives. Because of it, we are invited to feel a deep and lasting hope, both in the present as we face life’s challenges and in the future as we look toward the resurrection and eternal life with Christ. Flowing from this confidence, we are called to do something with the gospel—living it out, sharing it with others, and letting it shape our priorities. Rooted in the memory verses of 1 Corinthians 15:3–4, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures. That he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,” this series helps us stay grounded in what matters most—the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This Week's Message:
Living Hope Through the Resurrection

In 1 Corinthians 15:12–34, Paul insists that if Christ has not been raised, our faith is meaningless. But since He has risen, we have both forgiveness and victory over death. His resurrection is the foundation of our salvation and gives us strength and purpose in the present, knowing death no longer has the final word.

Because Christ is the “firstfruits,” His resurrection guarantees ours. This hope shapes how we live—enduring hardship, pursuing holiness, and giving ourselves fully to God’s work. The risen Christ is both our present power and our eternal promise, assuring us that our labor in Him is never in vain.

We hope you can join us this Sunday. We look forward to seeing you.

“ . . . you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” — Ephesians 2:19-20

Scripture reminds us when a person becomes a follower of Jesus they are adopted into God’s Family - the Church is His family on earth!
